Established 1972 · Nagercoil, Kanyakumari

The Taste of Nagercoil
for Over 50 Years.

From generations of schoolchildren to families now scattered across the world, Greatest Bakery has been serving the iconic Butter Bun and the legendary Plum Cake with the same recipe, the same warmth, and the same wax-paper wrap that made it famous.

Two Recipes. Fifty Years. Unchanged.

The Signature

The Legendary Butter Bun

For decades, one bite of our Butter Bun has carried back memories of school days, family outings, and evening tea. A cloud-soft bun split and filled with our house-churned sweet butter cream, still hand-wrapped in the same wax paper since 1972. It remains one of Nagercoil's most loved bakery traditions.

The softest bite in Kanyakumari.

The Tradition

The Famous Plum Cake

Our Plum Cake has been cherished for more than five decades, carrying the same authentic flavour customers have loved since the beginning. Fruits soaked for months, the family's secret spice blend, hand-baked low and slow. The centrepiece of every Nagercoil Christmas and the suitcase of every returning traveller.

A tradition preserved in every slice.

    A Town's Daily Ritual

    K.O. Road Opens

A second branch opens on K.O. Road, becoming a landmark for travellers and a meeting point for families.

    Across the Seas

Our Plum Cakes start travelling to Dubai, Singapore and the Gulf, tucked into the suitcases of those who miss home.

  5. Today

    Still the Greatest

Two branches, the same recipes, baked fresh every morning — now serving the grandchildren of our very first customers.

Voices from Afar

A Taste of Home, Wherever You Are.

Every time I visit Nagercoil from London, my first stop isn't even home — it's Court Road for a warm Butter Bun. The smell hasn't changed in thirty years.

We carry the Plum Cake back to Singapore every Christmas. No other bakery captures that exact spice — it tastes like my grandmother's kitchen.

Deepa N.

Singapore

I grew up eating the cream bun after school in the 80s. Now my kids in Dubai wait at the door whenever a relative is flying back home.
